What We Do

What Do We Do?

We are a non-proft organization, 100% fully staffed by volunteers.

Our specialty and most beneficial activity is to give HOPE to a person in need, to alleviate their anxiety and suffering and to provide HELP through material support and tangible items, and references to other community services to improve their situation.

Statistics on Helping - Fiscal Year 2022-2023

As a results of our ministries, we were able to assist in the following areas:

More than 68,745 hours of volunteer time were contributed by Vincentians and community members who served our neighbors in need in our community during the past fiscal year.

Value of volunteer service using the IRS value of $29.95/per volunteer hour = $2,178,293

Food Pantry

Last year, we provided food sufficient to feed 28,196 individuals for 5 days from our facility, the mobile food pantry, and holiday meals (Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas). Our Food Pantry is stocked by community compassion and generous donors, local food drives and purchased food. In addition to the basics, we try to include surprises that will make our recipients smile. Together, we can do even more. There is no food that is left to waste within our pantry.

Clothing, Housewares and Furniture Assistance

We provide these items to those in need, thanks to the donations we receive from YOU, the community.

Financial Assistance

Over $424,791 was spent on rental assistance, utility payments, bus fares, parking, education and other miscellaneous expenses in fiscal 2022-2023. We review the financial situation of those we help to determine the amount needed.

Education

We offer this most successful program to those wishing to improve their earning potential by paying for tuition, books, supplies, and licensing fees. With our assistance, individuals have pursued education to improve their lives by securing a technical job or profession, gaining additional qualifications/certifications or completing a four-year degree.

It is all through the generosity of donors that we can fulfill our mission.

PROVIDING HOPE

Organized locally, conferences consist of groups of volunteers that minister regularly to our neighbors in need. We attend meetings to pray, learn about opportunities, and support and encourage one another. As part of a conference, members conduct personal one-on-one interviews to determine how our neighbors’ needs can best be addressed. Members of the conference work in the various services areas of our St. Vincent facility, or from their homes, to provide services, plan events, fundraisers or community outreach to support and involve our local community. Volunteering at a conference is a wonderful way to meet new friends, to expand your understanding of poverty and to discover a new sense of compassion for our neighbors in need.
